Resource Review- TheFunded.com

TheFunded.com provides an outlet for entrepreneurs to review and rate venture capital firms and venture capitalists with whom they’ve had dealings. It is a unique and provocative resource for founders and entrepreneurs.

thefundedlogoBy pulling back the curtain on the VC process, and subjecting VC firms and individual partners to critique and even, in some cases, ridicule, The Funded.com has sought to level the playing field between founders and their funders.

This was bound to be controversial, with some VC firms complaining bitterly that anonymous reviewers have trashed their reputations. Of course, the reviews have to be read critically, but some of the uglier stories ring true: Some VCs really do these things sometimes and entrepreneurs need to know.

Having served on both sides of the table, I believe this is a noble endeavor: Entrepreneurs need to understand the fund-raising process, know what a good VC process looks like, and know whom and what to avoid.

If companies are going to successfully launch, entrepreneurs need to shed naivete quickly and get their head into the VC game – and TheFunded.com helps them do that quickly.
